We are very proud and definitely appreciative of the military service of those in the Rockland Valley. While we no longer have an active American Legion Post, we entertain hopes that a post can be reestablished. The annual 4th of July celebration always includes a tribute to our Veterans and those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our Country and for our freedoms. A permanent Veterans’ Memorial is planned, and active fundraising for the memorial is ongoing. If you would like to donate, contact Kip Wilson or Leo Udy.
The city welcomes Veterans that may wish to relocate to our quiet little area, and I think all would find the community welcoming and supporting. Many , following their service, wish to decompress in a quiet environment.
