Events & Activities

Rockland has several community events and celebrations during the year.

Memorial Day includes a potluck luncheon sponsored by the Congregational Church.  The Church is located on the corner of S. Pine and E. Nez Perce.  Pastor is Steve Wegner at 208-548-2349

June brings the annual community melodrama and dinner, where local talent is showcased and is an opportunity for a few entertaining evenings for residents.

4th of July festivities include a fun run, flag raising, breakfast in the park, games, lunch, a Patriotic Program, and fun activities/booths for children.  Most activities are at the main park (E. Center and Pine Streets), or across the street at the school.

October brings the Community Harvest Dinner. Usually sponsored by the LDS Church and is a potluck style meal. Excellent opportunity to meet new friends or rekindle old friendships.

December brings the Christmas celebration.  Different every year – it may be singing carols in the park with a bonfire, cookies, and hot chocolate, a 12 days of Christmas presentation, live nativity, or an indoor talent show.  These events are always a cheerful way to get into the spirit of the season.

The Legion Hall is also used throughout the year for various fun and events, such as community movie showings, a Halloween costume party, and Santa making an appearance with treats and goodies for local children at Christmas time.
